Disaster Recovery Mission Trip
First Parish Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in East Derry, New Hampshire has sent three groups of folk to New Orleans in the past three years to help with restoration efforts after Hurricane Katrina hit the city in 2005. This week there are 10 people in New Orleans working with South Central Conference Disaster Ministry of the South Central Conference of the UCC. This Web site will have pictures posted daily along with any comments participants might choose to offer.
Pray - Please pray for this ministry, the people it serves, the volunteers who arrive each week to work and the city of New Orleans.
Work Groups - As rebuilding work increases, skilled groups are needed any time of the year. One person in eight should be able to lead a crew and be skilled in home rehabilitation and rebuilding.
Gift Cards - to Home Depot or Lowe's to be used for supplies and equipment as needed. We also allow crew leaders of volunteer groups to use these for small purchases as they work.
Donate Funds - Donations of funds may be made payable to: First Parish Congregational Church, UCC, and designated for "South Central Conference Disaster Ministry Fund".
